SEPTEMBER 13

BROOKLYN’S BIGGEST BACK TO SCHOOL PARTY
12-4 PM | Between Clinton - Hicks Streets | Best for ages 0–12

We’re teaming up with Brooklyn Bridge Parents for an afternoon packed with 40+ activities, including sports, live performances, STEM, card trading, crafts, face painting, martial arts, the Free Art Dude and plenty of back to school fun for Brooklyn families.

The Free Art Dude

Back by popular demand, The Free Art Dude is bringing his walking museum back to Montague Street. He will roam Montague Street handing out free postcard reproductions of famous works of art, along with fun facts and stories behind the masterpieces. Find him, get some art, learn something cool.

Get in the Game with Gotham FC

Between Clinton - Hicks Street

Kick it like Gotham FC, the tri-state area’s pro women’s soccer team. Test your skills, take on soccer challenges, and score some Gotham swag.

Brooklyn Public Library + The Bookmobile

Brooklyn Public Library is bringing the library to Montague Street. Browse, borrow and return books, sign up for a library card, grab a free craft, and more. Local librarians will be here all afternoon to answer questions, help with library services, and lead a fun activity for kids.

Interactive Storytime with The Storied Forest

Stories, songs, crafts and movement featuring two school themed books—one about a nervous backpack and another about making friends with some not so scary monster classmates.

Hype Dance Party

Dance, sing, and move to favorite songs in a playful, supportive way designed to build confidence. Kids will try jazz and hip-hop moves, freestyle moves and more. Best for ages 3–10 and their adults

FAD MARKET POP UP

50+ INDEPENDENT DESIGNERS, ARTISTS + MAKERS

12-6 PM | Between Clinton - Hicks Streets

Shop art, clothing, accessories, home goods, gifts and one of a kind finds from more than 50 independent makers.

Come to browse. Leave with something you didn’t know you needed.

Super Soccer Stars

Kick, dribble and score with Super Soccer Stars. Kids will take on fun, age appropriate soccer activities designed to build ball skills, confidence and teamwork without the pressure of competition.

Come kick a ball around, learn a few new skills and get in the game.

UPCYCLE: COMMUNITY TAG SALE

One neighbor’s “I never wore this” is somebody else’s new favorite find.

Shop secondhand clothing, books, housewares, toys, and the odd, wonderful stuff that makes a neighborhood tag sale worth the trip.

Walking Tours of Brooklyn Heights with McNeil Tours

Meet in front of Khaosan Thai Restaurant, 128 Montague Street near Henry Street.

Step off Montague Street and into the stories that shaped Brooklyn Heights. This free guided walk takes you past iconic brownstones, the Promenade, historic landmarks and sites tied to the American Revolution. Reserve your spot here

The Service Collective’s Pet Supply Donation Station

Between Clinton - Henry Streets

Give Brooklyn’s animals a little love. Bring new or gently used bedding and carriers, unopened, unexpired pet food, or stop by to make a toy to donate. Donations support Montague Street’s own Brooklyn Cat Café, Animal Care Centers of NYC and Sean Casey Animal Rescue.

Feast of St. Francis Animal Blessing

Bring your dog, cat, rabbit,  turtle, hamster, camel and other beloved pets for a neighborhood blessing of the animals.

All pets and their people are welcome.

Blessed Beats: A Dance Party for Pets + People
Featuring DJ Del

After the Blessing of the Animals, the celebration continues with DJ Del. Great music and a dance party for two legged and four legged guests. Bring your pet, or come on your own and join the fun.

Square Dance Jamboree with Jalopy Theatre
Between Henry - Hicks Streets
Near James Weir Floral, 107 Montague Street

Bring a partner, bring your friends, or come on your own. The callers will teach you the steps, so it doesn’t matter if you’ve never square danced before.

Fun for all ages.

The Montague Open Streets Pickleball Tournament is back.

Register to compete, drop in for casual play, or come watch and see what everyone is talking about.

MONTAGUE DINER DOG COSTUME CONTEST

We’re closing out Fall Open Streets with costumed dogs, proud humans, and plenty of neighborhood cheering.

Dress your pup to impress and enter the contest, or grab a spot along the sidelines and cheer for your favorites.
