MontagueMattersPoster-432 Montague Matters is a neighborhood kindness campaign supported by the local businesses, restaurants and merchants of Montague Street. It’s our way of chipping away at things that matter to the quality of life like hunger, education, homelessness, the environment, social justice, and poverty.

A few times a year, the BID will collect items that can help people’s  lives better. All items will be donated to charities and organizations in and around our neighborhood.

Join us. A little kindness can go a long way.

P.S. If there’s an issue or an organization that can benefit from Montague Matters, email us at info@montaguebid.com and we’ll be in touch to see how we may be able to get involved.

DONATE HATS, GLOVES, SOCKS TO KEEP A CHILD STAY WARMER THIS WINTER AND TAKE AN ELFIE  Saturday, November 26

Skip the lines for pictures with Santa this year, and head to Montague Street on November 26 during Small Business Saturday for an Elfie, (a selfie with an elf). In the spirit of the season, while you are shopping, dining and enjoying the many services on Montague Street stop by and visit the elves on the corners of Montague at Clinton and Montague at Henry between 12-2pm to donate new socks, gloves, and hats to keep Brooklyn kids warmer this winter. Everyone who donates can take a free Elfie. Donations will be given to Brooklyn’s School District 13 for students in need, which encompasses Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, and Bedford-Stuyvesant, along Flatbush Avenue Extension and Brooklyn Heights.

And, be sure to enjoy some of the specials, discounts and promotions stores, restaurants and businesses on Montague Street are offering to celebrate Small Business Saturday.

BACK TO SCHOOL September 18 – October 18

To a student, a backpack, and a pencil can be powerful tools for learning. Help school kids in need from in and around our neighborhood to succeed in school this year. Drop new or gently loved backpacks, lunch boxes, and any school supply off in a Montague Matters box at one of the businesses listed below.
